GourmetPix was born from a real problem we faced ourselves: creating professional food photos without breaking the bank or disrupting kitchen operations.
Our Story
It started with ice cream. At Café Milchbubi in Germany, we create handmade Italian-style ice cream fresh every day. New flavors, seasonal specials, creative sundaes - our menu changes constantly. And every new creation needs great photos for social media, delivery apps, and our menu boards.
The problem? Professional food photographers in Germany charge €100+ per hour. For a small café experimenting with new recipes weekly, that's simply not sustainable. We tried DIY photos, but smartphone snapshots next to professionally shot competitors made our delicious creations look amateur.
The solution came from an unexpected place: a meetup in Dubai. Robin, with over a decade of experience in precision photography through Eyemazy (iris photography operating in 15 countries), met Carsten, a data engineer and software developer specializing in AI applications. Over coffee, we realized: what if AI could bridge the gap between amateur smartphone photos and professional results?
That conversation became GourmetPix. We combined Robin's expertise in photography aesthetics and firsthand restaurant experience with Carsten's technical skills in AI and software development. The result is an AI-powered tool built specifically for food photography - one that makes dishes look appetizing without looking fake.
We built the tool we wished existed. Now we're sharing it with every restaurant owner, café, food truck, and home chef who deserves professional-quality photos without the professional price tag.
